About Us
Soccer in the Iron River area was established by a Community Schools program lead by Mark Rozine. His annual summer-
time, soccer sessions taught area youngsters the fundamentals of soccer. As a result, interest in soccer grew.
In 2003, Greg Leib formed the Iron County Soccer Club under the auspices of SAY (Soccer Association for Youth). SAY's
website is www.saysoccer.org. This new league organized the kids, boys and girls combined, into age categories starting at
U4 up to U19 and also League is 300 kids strong. "U" stands for under.
Greg Leib passed the league's torch over to Mark Rozine and Marian Novak in 2005 who ran the league through 2010. Due
to growth in participation and the need to delegate responsibility, a Board of Directors was formed to oversee the progress
and operations of the league. Reference our contacts for a roster of the current Board.
To date the league is 300+ kids strong and in order to improve the quality of soccer, the Club just sponsored a coach's clinic
and soccer camp. Professionals kindly gave of their time to teach fundamental drills, techniques and enthusiasm to our
coaches and players. We strive to create opportunities for all youth to play recreational soccer and we encourage the kids
to have fun. The league has partnered with Northern Wisconsin leagues including the Eagle River Fall League and Indoor
Soccer League in which Iron River teams participate each fall and winter. We currently are planning to field a U16
Competitive Team for the spring of 2022.
